A Major Milestone in Space Exploration
Since I am so inspired by space and love learning and following our progress exploring the last frontier, I wanted to write a quick post to acknowledge an incredible milestone in space travel. On Thursday (March 30, 2107) SpaceX successfully launched a satellite into orbit with a reused rocket. This is the first time anyone has been able to reuse a stage one orbital class rocket and represents a huge leap forward in reusable spacecraft. Being able to reuse rockets will dramatically reduce the cost of space travel and continue making it more and more accessible. Check out the video...even Elon Musk is a bit emotional regarding this amazing achievement! Congratulations to the SpaceX team!
If you or your students are as inspired by this video or space, as I am then you should check out a cool web game called NetworKing built by NASA a few years ago. The game is made with a game engine called Unity3D and requires a plugin but it is safe and very fun. NASA published this web game for kids to learn more about how communications between satellites, astronauts and Earth work. Check it out if you get a chance!
